Color Profiles II
With version 3 beta 4, Firefox is my friend again. You have to set
gfx.color_management.enabled in about:config (which comes with a friendly 'advanced users only' message), but then Firefox passes the aforementioned color profile test.
(Also, you seem no longer to need an add-on to view long titles.)

Does your browser support color profiles?
A while ago, I discovered that when I exported my images from LightRoom and posted them on Umbrella, they looked faded, and although picking sRGB as the color space improved the look (over AdobeRGB 1998 or ProPhoto RGB), they all looked different, and all less vibrant than images in the library. Recently, I discovered that the same image exported three times, once with each of those color spaces, look the same in Apple's Preview, in Safari, and even in Vista's default image-viewing application; but they look different in Firefox (whether running under OS X or Windows).
And here's the rub: Firefox doesn't support color profiles (yet?), so for now my default browser is back to Safari (with the aid of Stand and AdBlock).
