
The Las Vegas airport terminal is — well, as above. The first time, it threw me, but if you know to expect it, it's what you'd expect. An aspect that the photo doesn't catch, but which you might extrapolate from casino floors, is the constant burbling electonica of the machines as a background to 'threat level orange'.
And speaking of burbling, I was today alerted to the fact that the pedestrian traffic lights in Japan play a song — haunting and bizarre, but apparently a legit melody in other contexts. (Toryanse. Thanks to D. R. Gordon for the audio links.)
