Mark Fickett Art: Figure Sculpture II (Spring 2008)
This is work from Figure Sculpture II at UPenn, with Nick Vidnovic. The sculptures are in clay; the portraits are over a wooden armature, and occasionally styrofoam is used for support. Typically sculptures are from one three-hour studio session, and use between one and two 25lb bags of clay. I use an angled wood block and a smaller flat wood tool (visible here), and my hands.
